so behind! :P
Then on the last day she was here in Texas, we went to go see llamas. yah okay so i have had this weird hidden love for llamas, ever since my last Peru visit. I thought they were such cool creatures and so gentle. I had told Al and he had asked me if i would want one and i said Yeah! He said maybe i could train it and i immediatly saw myself riding a llama in my head. lol. SO we went to go see llamas and bought if from this old man that was nice but he didnt have a clue about llamas (that was a red flag)..anywho i saw the one i wanted, she was so cute, her body was dark brown and her tail and lil face was blackish brown..but the cool part about her is she had a lil white on her chin and neck and here legs (loooked like leg warmers) :) beautiful. Anywho, Alan was so sweet and he let me rant about how awesome llamas were and i told him all the research i know about them ( i did my homework)and finally i decided to call her "Sweety" because she was so sweet and gentle and she even had white sugar on her chin : D lol. i trained her for a week, she would run away from everyone when we first got her but i got her to stop, let me pet her, then she finally let me hug her and would walk with me. It was such an awesome feeling, training an animal is beautiful. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought i could do such a thing, but something about connecting with an animal without language but just consistency and patience was inspiring. sigh, God had other plans though, because the family went on a trip for 3 days and I left her food and plenty of water but when we got back we found her dead..and she was being eaten by the vultures..it was grusome. I wont go into detail because it was just sad and fortunatly we got there and they had just started picking at her. My heart sank when i saw her lying there...seriously all i could say was "NOOO" and just cry. I had so many plans for her and so many good times with her. It was a horrible day and I was not expecting her to leave so soon. Al and his dad helped me bury her and i made her a cross grave. I am coping with her loss but I know God made her and will take her back, ill see her in heaven and connect again with her.

heat + hard work + running from bulls = weight loss
Safe to say that bull was not liking what we were doing and when we almost had him in the trailer he turned around and we had to hurry and close him in with some poles (ill explain later) and while i was running around to the other side of the trailer (like seriously hauling!) i slammed my knee on the hitch (the part were you hook the trailer and truck) and ripped my jeans open!! i didnt realize how but bad i slammed my knee until i felt blood dripping down :( but the good thing was we got him in and Alan is quick on his feet! SO after our heart rates went up and Mr. bull was in the trailer Alan ear tagged him....oh and i forgot we branded him too! man , if that doesnt scream Ranch life i dont know what does!! lol so we got to the vet and did it all over again this time we had 2 more guys. I wonder if they are hiring Cowgirls? YeeeHAW!!

awesome mondays
On another note, we sure got exercise that same morning of the party because the goats got out of the pen (all 80) and we had to round them up. Of course while looking around Alan and donkey saw another rattlesnake and Al's dad shot its head off... Amber took picture and i just watched while Alan took its rattler off. Those things are amazing because there slimy boddies keep moving around even with no head! :P

country life..
In the meanwhile, I am learning Texas and the country life. Monday night Al's dad cooked us some steaks and we had a nice bbq dinner on a hot summer night. Every day here is hot (90-100 degrees) and the nights are warm (80-90 degrees) and great for sitting outside and watching the stars and shooting stars.
so the best part was the other day when we worked outside with the goats and Al asked what I wanted to do and I said "lets go to All'sups (local gas station) to get slurpees!" Al laughed and said I was turning into a real small town girl. :) lol i am simple if you dont know me by now. I have also been less sensitive to bug bites, I keep getting them daily so its not a big thing anymore.
On another note, I have been looking for a new job and found one with the American Red Cross, so I applied! I also am looking into headstart here in Robert Lee, they are openning a new one. I am excited to see what will happen and I cant wait to just serve a community and give good knowledge and also learn more!
My manual driving is getting alot better. Alan had me take a pickup truck and back it up to pick up a barrel of hay and I did it! It took lots of sweat and time with shifting but I did it! and I drove us over to give the hay to the goats. I felt like i needed a piece of hay in my mouth and a cowgirl hat! jajaja lol
List of funny and weird things:
1. At the town dance hall (outside) I was enjoying a nice 2 step dance and a grasshopper jumped in my boot!!
2. Working on a 1000 pieces puzzle that are all shaped the same!! (lol well it seems like it)
3. My knee is feeling better yay!
4. Ancorman is so funny! lol Alan of course fell asleep.. he is such a morning person lol I am the night owl
5. you know your in texas when there are streets called "Marbolo, Knickerboker, Buttercup and Peggysue" jaja lol okay i made up the last one but its great!

1st week
I love y'all so much! lol (practicing my accent) lol jk. Anywho, I am having a great time out here in West Texas. So far this week has been a nice lil after graduation/wedding vacation. :) This past month was crazy busy so it felt nice to just unwind out here at the ranch. Alan and I have been having lots of fun just taking hikes, swimming, feeding the animals and watching movies and eating rocky road. I am so happy to get to hang out with him more, yah know?? :) He is a big sweetheart and his family has been so sweet with me. I moved in to the little cabin here on the ranch and its cute! Ill have to send you pictures, but its nice and hot and i have a front porch that I can sit on and watch the sunset on the hills and the baby calfs with cows walk on by and the deer prancing around the fields of grass. (sigh) its so beautiful and peaceful. So to update on the La Esperanza job, the CEO never gave me a call and I have been calling and I did get a call back from the HR director asking if i could come in on monday. I told her I would but she had to go for another call so I didnt ask about the final decision. I am going tommorrow and I will find out, I am thinking that they are figuring out some things first and perhaps want to make a negotiation about salary. I will get to the bottom of this tommorow and everything should be good! Keep me in your prayers!
